Art for Day 1

Art for Day 1

Dear Bright Side: After repeated attempts to look at you this morning, I admit it continues to be a struggle. That is all.

After tweeting that … and my eyes filling with tears of overwhelm being at my desk for less than a hour, and feeling like MS and depression would be the death nail in a day barely started … I decided to act and found some inspiration along the way:

  1. wrote in my vent-journal
  2. decided to write this blog post
  3. soaked in these art-full and encouraging words by Rachel Awes
  4. spotted this quote: The goal is to be on the hook, not to let someone else do the scary parts. -Seth Godin
  5. listened to this song ♫♫ {several times}

Art for Day 2

Art is what happens when you dare to be who you really are. -Emily Freeman

I have been restarting and persevering for weeks now. Chronic issues with MS, including lingering depression and an inability to sit for very long here at my computer, have led to project delays and several posts abandoned as drafts. Instead of wasting time editing, I deleted those paused attempts to publish bits of my right brain planning here.

This is me daring to be who I really am — this is me trying one.more.time! ;)

Art is my planning, my planning is my art.

Six years ago I started participating Leah Piken Kolidas’, Art Every Day Month: I enrolled in her ecourse one year and have always enjoyed her monthly inspirations. Always thought provoking and always timely and beneficial for me.

My words from my second year of participating and actually creating art every day that month:

I will view myself as an artist! I will shout {and exemplify} an attitude of “Yes!” as I embrace and practice my artistic gifts. I will make art a priority with grace and ease {and without guilt}.

art in progressLast year, upon deciding to participate, I wrote:

These are my rituals of again + over and over … Honoring rhythms and doing whatever works for as long as necessary. My decisions and outcomes do not have to stand trial or prove themselves. -Rituals of again + over and over

It is somewhat of a relief to feel like I am in the same place … Because, you know, I cycle like the moon. And I am good with that. Mostly. ;)

And this too, shall pass.

And there will be art every day this month.
aedmlogoredDuring the month of November I will be posting glimpses of my art every day …
