I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then. -Lewis Carroll
Change is the collection of frames for a proverbial flipbook. It is not until we pause in “creating frames” and {allow} for pause and reflection that we can fully appreciate, celebrate, accept and receive — “flip-through” and build on what we experienced.
This week my posts will be daily glimpses of Week 48’s “week-at-a-glance” page + answering the questions I have received about my daily art/planning practice.
My intentions in posting images as I create my page is not to provide a how-to, but to present a visual example of {one} way to honor an intention of personal care through art-full noting and planning.
It will allow you to observe, and hopefully note what you would like to do for your own daily practice; to identify what you like and what you might want to include for your practice.
Note: You may still be in the Observation Phase of deciding your art/planning process. Be kind to your-self, resist the urge to “hurry” or impose “never and always” to your personal time of determining how you want to accomplish art every day/week.
It takes as long as takes, Braveheart.
There are always secret messages — sparks of inspiration & affirmation — when I create collage pages.
This morning {as I resisted covering larger areas of colorful origami paper} I realized that I actually liked the effect of seeing the pattern through the lighter weight paper.
Other secret messages this morning:
- every element is part of The Whole
- there is always the option of adding more layers to what is seen/unseen
- “covering up” a less desired area is always an option if it allows you to feel more at ease about The Whole
- overs and re-do’s are not wasted time and energy; overs and re-do’s are recycling {upcycling} what has served its purpose.
Art Every Day Month has provided me with gentle accountability + facilitated a more efficient practice of right brain planning.

During the month of November I will be posting glimpses of my art every day … Art Every Day Month was created by Leah Piken Kolidas and is such an inspiring practice!
I prepped a new gluebook for this month’s art. If you would like to see visual tutorials and read more about glue-booking, click here.
P.S. Use hashtag #tajgluebook on Instagram to connect with other women who use glue-booking as means of art journaling.
